What is Magic Dragin?
Magic Dragin is a Windows tool that makes it possible to drag and drop files from web browsers and browser-based apps to applications other than Windows Explorer.
How does it work?
Browser-based apps like Gmail and the new Outlook allow dragging attachments (and in the case of the new Outlook, emails themselves) outside of the app such that they are downloaded on-demand. Normally, these files can only be dropped into a folder in Windows Explorer, but Magic Dragin makes it so that these files can be dropped into any Windows application.
Does Magic Dragin create extra copies of dragged files?
No, a single copy is downloaded to a temporary location, just as it would be when dragging without Magic Dragin, and this temporary file is passed on to the drop target application.
Does Magic Dragin collect any information?
Magic Dragin collects anonymous usage information for troubleshooting and to improve the application. No file names or file content data is ever collected.
